My working career included three major food companies, where I conducted
or directed others in research. Early in my career, projects included product
development, protein research, and other areas of applied research in food
science and nutrition. Later, it included eight years of applied nutritional
studies with domestic pets (dogs, cats, birds, and fish). The primary purpose
of our research was to confirm through multi-generational studies that all
products being marketed provided complete and balanced nutrition for all life
cycles. This involved many breeds and weight ranges.
Five years ago, after several years of retirement, I became interested in obesity
and the problems causing it. As I researched this problem, I came to believe
that I knew the major cause, not only for obesity, but for the chronic diseases
too. I arrived at my conclusions by pulling together information gleaned over
the years relating to the animal kingdom, and the nutritional needs of the
various species.
My goal in writing this series of books is to provide the opportunity for those
interested, to make themselves more healthy through better understanding of
the role that nutrition plays in their health.
Book I is directed at disclosing why so many people have chronic diseases and
how to avoid them.
